I was born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. I started my career at Diário de Pernambuco, the main newspaper in the city of Recife. I then began collaborating with magazines such as Herói, about comic books. A few years later, I moved to São Paulo to become the editor of the magazine SET, the main film magazine in Brazil at the time, where I worked for 10 years.
When I left SET, I worked at Contigo!, a celebrity magazine, then GQ Brazil–for which I was one of the founders–, and finally, Folha de S.Paulo, Brazil’s main newspaper.
I’ve been living in Los Angeles since 2013 working as a correspondent for Folha, as well as writing as a freelance writer to other publications such as Rolling Stone, Vogue, GQ, Yahoo, and others.
